Adopt-A-Highway

Adopt-A-Highway is a community involvement program that brings volunteers into a partnership with PennDOT to promote and provide cleaner roadsides. This also demonstrates citizen pride and good stewardship in the care and appearance of this great land we live in.

Caring In Action (CIA)
CIA addresses the physical needs of the body and beyond. This includes helping people with various projects. Services provided might include moving a chair to moving an entire household, replacing a roof, and everything in between.  Everyone can be a part of CIA because the needs are so varied. We don't have meetings; we just spring into action on an as-needed basis.

C.L.E.A.R. Group

Our mission and direction is CLEAR, what we stand on and know is the word of God is CLEAR...it’s the way to healing and reaching out to other sisters supporting
sisters...It’s CLEAR!  Ladies, this group is open to any woman in the church that needs or desires accountable fellowship.

Church Camp
Camp YoliJwa (Youth Living Jesus Way) is the summer camping program held at Doubling Gap Center (DGC).  DGC owned by the Eastern Region of the Churches of God and situated in the beautiful mountains in Newville, PA, offers summer camping opportunities as well as retreat and conference facilities for small and large groups.

COG Home Sewing
The second Tuesday of each month, from 9 am - 12 noon ladies from the church do hand sewing and mending for the residents of the Church of God Home in Carlisle.  This is an opportunity to fellowship with the residents and offer some practical help at the same time.  It is a lively group so please join us.  The Church Van leaves the church at 8:20 am.

Compassion International
Caring Community Church of God currently sponsors 10 year old Komal Samer, from the country of India. With our monthly gift of $32, Komal Samer has basic needs met, and the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Every spring a Compassion Sunday is presented to our church family to learn of the opportunity to personally sponsor a Compassion child.

Elderly
This ministry is for the purpose of reaching out to the elderly in the Church of God Home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  The church's liason meets with the Church's adopted grandparent quarterly.  The liaison takes care of purchasing and delivering Christmas and birthday gifts, visiting and fellowship with our grandparent.

Food Bank
Four or five times a year Caring Community has an ingathering of non-perishable food items.  These items are taken to the Food Pantry in Hummelstown where they are distributed to local families.  Also, people who garden, are encouraged to share their fresh produce by delivering it to the Pantry through the growing season.  Please help us reach out and show the love of Christ by giving generously, because "No One Should Be Hungry."

Parakaleo
Parakaleo means comfort.  The Parakaleo Ministry Team will extend the comfort and encouragement that they have personally received from God to those who are discouraged and hurting in the body of Caring Community.

Prayer Shawl
Members of this ministry meet occasional and then on their own, knit or crochet shawl, lap robes, hats and scarves for people who are facing a difficult time in their lives.  As the item is being made, prayers are said for the person who will eventually receive it.

Van - Not Operating at this time
Some people want to come to church, but don't have transportation.  The Van Ministry will pick up those individuals and return them safely to their home.  If you need a ride to church, please call the church office.
